» First Official IITG Alumni Meet on 11th April in Bangalore
Hi I am extremely excited to announce the first official alumni meet at Bangalore on the 11th of April. Its a dinner meet and some beer will be served :) We will also have Prof. Barua, Prof. Bhaduri and a couple of other folks from IITG with us in the event. http://gtalkbots.com 1. How it all started: It all started one fine evening when I and my friend Sowmya were recalling the good old days at the campus. We were just wondering how beautiful those days were and at the same time we were repenting as we didnt had enough moments captured on our digicam. Then Sowmya just poked in with an idea, why not have something which can save her and all her friends status messages. Those status message, which generally reflect your day to day activity, mood, schedule, message, quote, funda, bakarz and what not. 2. Create a timeline of your and your friends by saving status messages : In next few days I came up with a demo chat bot abhinav.bot@gmail.com (not functional now) which could track all mine and my friends status messages. Cool, it really helped a lot in many ways. Then we though why not make something which everyone can use out there and hence we came up with http://gtalkbots.com on 15th September, 2008. Now everyone can save their friends status messages just by adding bots@gtalkbots.com to their gtalk friends list. 3. Dont have a pen at the lab, no worries. You have Gtalkbots now: We then extended Gtalkbots.com from just a status saving website to an online diary and personal notes saving service. This allows one to save his/her daily important notes etc just by messaging it to bots@gtalkbots.com. I used to reach lab without a copy and pen 99% of times. And then when I had to save some notes, I used to had no place. This could have helped me there. Save all your important phone numbers on web. At office and someone just told u something important to note down. No worries just open up gtalk and message that note to bots@gtalkbots.com. You are done.
